My name is Tamerlane Bey and I have been fascinated with Art ever since I could remember. As a youth growing up in Harlem, NY, you had to stay focused in order to survive in the streets. On a typical day when all my friends were out 'ballin’, shootin’ dice, cuttin’ school, and ‘mackin’, I was discovering the wonders of Art in my third floor apartment in Jefferson projects. Whether I was drawing, painting, sculpting, etc., didn’t matter as long as I was being creative. Also, I was fortunate enough to have been blessed with a positive, loving environment and lots of encouragement.. My mother was all that and a Snack Pack.. I would not be the man I am today without her constant love and support throughout the years. Big up to my moma, Mrs. Mary Bey, and all mama’s and/or papa’s world wide who are doing their best to provide a fighting chance for our future leaders. Stay inspired!
